Pocket List for Hard Rock Ottawa
A night at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa without a car goes better when your pockets are right before the O-Train pulls in. The checklist below covers the shuttle fare, the 19+ door and the way back home.

Paying the Shuttle Driver
The resort shuttle runs on cards and phones. The driver takes card, credit or tap, and never cash, so loose bills do nothing for you at the stop. Joining Unity by Hard Rock costs nothing, and its card lowers the fare; the resort's shuttle page lists the current amounts.
Count two fares for a round trip: one out to Albion Road, one back to the station.

Where the Age Line Sits
Every part of the property is 19 and over. That covers the casino floor, the restaurants, the hotel and Hard Rock LIVE, not just the gaming. Ontario's Gaming Control Act, 1992, s. 2(3), bars anyone under 19 from entering or staying in a casino, unless they work there.
At the entrance, staff want photo ID issued by a government: an Ontario Photo Card, a passport or a driver's licence. If you are under 21, two pieces can be requested, so keep a second card in the other pocket.

Self-Exclusion Travels With You
My PlayBreak is OLG's self-exclusion for Ontario casinos, and it covers every casino in the province at once. Terms run 3 or 6 months, or 1 to 5 years, and none of them can be ended early. Someone enrolled stays barred at Hard Rock Ottawa for the whole term. Taking the O-Train and the shuttle instead of a car changes nothing about that.

Numbers to Save Before You Go
Put 1-613-822-8668 in your phone before you leave home: it is the resort's own line. Day or night, a chat window on the resort's own website can field a question as well. Both matter on a shuttle night. The resort says shuttle times can change without notice and asks riders to check the current schedule on its shuttle page before a trip. The floor publishes no holiday hours either, so the phone settles that too.

The Pocket Checklist
- A card, credit card or tap-ready phone, because the driver never takes cash.
- Photo ID issued by a government: an Ontario Photo Card, a passport or a driver's licence.
- A second piece of ID if you are under 21, since the door can ask for two.
- Your Unity by Hard Rock card if you have one, since members ride for less.
- The time of the last run home: 12:00 midnight from the resort to Leitrim Station, or 3:00 AM to Uplands Station.
Questions
Short answers
Will the shuttle driver take a phone tap?
Yes, tap is one of the three ways the driver takes payment, along with card and credit. Cash is never taken, so set up the phone for tap before you reach the stop.
Does a passport alone get you through the door?
At the door, guests are asked for government-issued photo ID; a passport counts, as do an Ontario Photo Card and a driver's licence. A guest under 21 is the exception and may be asked for two pieces.
Under 21, should you carry two pieces of ID?
Bringing two is sensible, since guests under 21 can be asked for two pieces of ID. Which pair counts is not published, so two pieces of government photo ID are the safe choice.
Is a dinner trip open to someone under 19?
No, the whole property is 19 and over, so the restaurants are off limits to them just like the casino and the hotel. Ontario law also bars anyone under 19 from entering a casino unless they work there.
